Second Call for proposals
- closing date for full applications 1 December 2008

A second call for proposals is being launched to characterise and validate cardiomyocytes derived from human embryonic stem cells. The call for proposals will be split into three parts: an expression of interest; a workshop on 22 October 2008 in London, to brief and answer questions from potenital applicants and the submission and review of full proposals.

The timelines for the project are:

10 October 2008

Closing date for Expressions of Interest and registration for the Briefing Meeting, both of which should be received by 17:00.

22 October 2008

Briefing Meeting, London - all those expressing an interest are encouraged to attend, or send a representative (registration by 10 October 2008).

1 December 2008

Closing date for full proposals, which should be received by 17:00.

February 2009  

Notification of outcomes to applicants.

First Call for Proposals 2008/09

The first call for proposals closed in December 2007. The first call for proposals can be downloaded below for information.

Copy of the First Call for Proposals

Four projects were awarded for funding in the first call aimed at two key areas:

  • To overcome scientific hurdles in the differentiation of liver cells (three projects)
  • To develop functional standards to validate and characterise differentiated cells (one project)

These projects will run through to the September 2009.
